Living Simply and With the Earth
At Eden Village Camp, we foster stewardship of the earth's complex web of life through our facilities as well as through our programs. Every summer, campers learn natural building techniques as we create and renovate the camp's cob ovens, straw bale huts, rainwater catchment systems and more!
We strive to live within the means nature provides in order to preserve the resources that our children and grandchildren will depend on. Towards this goal, we model renewable energy such as biodiesel and solar power, while our array of green building innovations includes composting toilets, gray water filtration, and the use of sustainable materials. We are designing permaculture landscapes to supplement our organic farm and gardens, which serve to educate campers even as they provide us with nutritious and tasty eating options.
We aim towards carbon neutrality, running on renewable energy sources, and creating zero waste. The zero-waste goal means reusing, recycling, reducing, and most of all rethinking!
